Boy Scout Troop 145

On October 22 the boys that were working on the Aviation MB went flying courtesy of the Young Eagles program, http://www.youngeagles.org/.  We had 3 volunteer pilots scheduled to take the boys up in different style planes, but when Attorney and Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris saw what was going on he offered to take some boys up too.

The boys were in control of almost everything during the flight from takeoff to landing.  After their flight, each boy received a certificate and a flight log with their first flight logged in it.  As part of the program, they received a code that was good for a free ground school to get them started towards getting their pilots license.  I'm not sure how many future pilots were created but I do know this is something that they will all remember for a very long time.
