On June 10, 2011 we went on a backpacking trip to Sheep Camp. We started at Boy Scout Camp in the Lockwood Valley area on Friday night and hiked 2.6 miles to Three Falls.
Saturday morning, after a breakfast of eggs, sausage and biscuits, we hit the trail for Sheep Camp, and what a trail it is. Over 4 miles with an elevation gain of over 2300 feet, but the views were awesome. We got to camp around 1PM so the boys had plenty of time to play and explore. Some of them even went looking for a Geo-cache in the area. After a dinner of chili mac, the boys played capture the flag with a Troop from Lancaster. Troop 145 won of course.
Sunday morning, after a breakfast of pancakes and bacon, we headed for home. 6.6 miles later, and 2800 feet lower, we were back where we started.
It was a great trip and every boy made it with no problems or complaints, other than they didn't want to go home.
