On October 1-3, the Troop went on a canoe trip down the Colorado river. This was a family trip so we had a big group, 29 people in 14 canoes.
Saturday the weather was cloudy and we even ran in to some rain but it was still a fantastic day. We did a total of 20 miles on Saturday from Rotary Park in Boulder AZ down to the Needles Marina where we spent the night.
Saturday night we had a thunderstorm come in and everyone had to scramble to get tents up and rain flies on since mos of us were sleeping under the stars. In the morning the weather looked good for another 10 mile trip down to Topoc but the storm came back around with heavy rain and severe thunder and lightning so we cancelled the last leg.
Since we were heading home early, some of the group decided to take a tour of Mitchell Caverns near Essex.
Over all, it was a great trip and the boys and families are already taking about doing it again.
